Planning
Planning Is Crucial Before Project Launch
Planning is a crucial part of setting up a project. There must have been a consideration of all necessary factors to ensure that all boxes are ticked. This goes a long way in determining the sustainability of a project. The project went through a series of examinations from the regulatory authorities.
These authorities will also scrutinise any project because a project must be in line with the laid down regulations for such projects to be viable. In the absence of this scrutiny, a project will remain in the ideation stage and not be able to enter the market or start rendering services to the community. The regulatory authorities are in charge of ensuring that projects are in compliance with the applicable standards.
Some of the things that will be evaluated include whether there has been adequate environmental assessment of the project. This is an essential part, as the environment has become a topical subject matter that needs to be regarded in every conversation that has to do with developing new projects.
The community can no longer take projects that will do more harm than good. There have been several cases of projects not serving the purpose they should serve, while still creating many complications for the environment.
As such, there must have been an assessment of the environmental impacts of the project. This helps to determine the safety of the project. The assessment is also carried out by individual experts with years of experience in the field and who can be trusted to serve the process without bias.

Expert Assessment Of The Environment
Expert assessment is non-negotiable. Before a project can kickstart, there must have been some sort of assessment to determine the value of the project and the purpose it intends to serve. One of the key assessments for projects of this nature is environmental assessment.
Processing wood requires the use of machines and various kinds of technology to achieve excellent results. Wood also is a material that has a lot to do with the environment. As such, for this kind of project, environmental assessment is non-negotiable.
There must be adequate assessment of the environment to ensure that the project doesn’t have adverse effects on the environment. Without such an assessment, a project of this nature cannot start, because its impacts will still be uncertain.
There have been assessments for this project and the assessments conclude that the project is viable. Some of the things considered during an assessment is the value that the project aims to offer. This project bridges the wood processing gap across various communities, which is a problem that has been on for a long period.
It offers manufacturers and wood users the opportunity to make the most from their wood without having to spend much or transport it across various places. Also, the facility will ensure that all forms of wood get the required attention they need to make it to the market.
As against past times when certain kinds of wood are burnt, this will no longer be the case, as the facility is designed to be able to convert and process all kinds of wood.
Furthermore, the facility doesn’t have adverse effects on the environment. This is because it makes use of some of the best technologies that are highly environmentally safe. The technologies are optimised to process wood without causing complications for the environment.
Additionally, the site is built in a place that’s quite distant from the residential areas. As such, it doesn’t disturb people. This way, the facility doesn’t cause noise pollution, which is one of the things considered during the environmental assessment.
More so, the facility aims to serve a wide range of people. It is built over a large site and with many machines that will facilitate processing and production at a wide scale. This makes it viable for community use, as it will serve many people at once, thereby improving the time expended during this process. It will also create job opportunities for many people who will work in the facility in different capacities.
This is one of the key things that come with the initiative. Employment opportunities are crucial when it comes to projects of this nature. They must be able to serve the needs of the people and one of such is to create jobs. Since the facility is a large one, it will also be creating opportunities for many people, thereby improving the viability of the project altogether.
Community Consultation
This is an important part of the process before kick-starting the project. The organisers must have reached out to the community members for outreach. This is often with the stakeholders in a community. This wood processing project went through all of those stages.
During the project development stage, there were various stages of reaching out to the stakeholders to discuss the viability of the project and the impacts the project will have. The brains behind the project sat with the stakeholders and took them through the activities of the project and how it intends to make efficient use of the community’s resources.
This is a key stage that cannot be omitted, as it’s crucial to obtaining the consent and cooperation of the community members. For a project of this nature to sail through efficiently, members of the community must not only know about it but also be on board and ready to cooperate with the needs of the project to bring the goals to fruition.
The community consultation stage also represents the stage where the stakeholders will discuss the possible social programs that the organisation can run to support the community. This will offer the organisers all they need to know about the most vulnerable parts of the community that need assistance and support.
Knowing this will shape the nature of social responsibility programs that the organisation will take on and which will have the most relevant impacts on the community. Thus, by fostering a strong relationship with the community, the project can move at a faster rate and also attend to all necessary needs in the community and the project’s goals.
Sustainability Plan
Before kick-starting a project, a sustainability plan is important. The organisers must consider the long-term plan of how the project will be sustainable for the period it lasts. The need for a well-structured out sustainability plan cannot be overstated because it’s upon this plan that the success of the project rests.
A sustainability plan will include the key performance indices through which the project will be assured over a certain period. This will help to determine the viability of the project and how it has been able to impact the environment.
By doing so, the regulatory authorities can also be satisfied that the project has been true to the goals and has been serving people accordingly. Some things are crucial to a sustainability plan.
Community Impact
The project aims to make forest resources more valuable by providing excellent wood processing facilities. The facility is meant to process all kinds of wood and help people make more money from their wood production without losing much of it to the processing as they currently do.
As such, one of the key things that will be considered in assessing the sustainability of the project is how much community impact it has had. At a particular point, the facility will be assessed based on how much resources it has been able to utilise and how many people it has served.
Also, the facility will have to operate certain social responsibilities mainly for the community where it operates. This will be some form of responsibility and dues paid to the society for having the site located therein.
Environmental Impact
Although there would have been an environmental assessment before the project, environmental impact is a key thing that needs to be examined. Over a period of time, there will be an assessment of how much environmental impact the facility has had on the community.
This is to ensure whether the project is truly in line with the results of the initial environmental assessments or it has become dangerous by polluting the environment. The results of the latter assessment will go a long way in deciding whether the facility will continue to run without hassles.
Development Assistance
To ensure effective planning, the planning stage was done in cooperation with the Southwood Community Advisory Group. The group offered all necessary pieces of advice to the team to ensure that all boxes are ticked.
This went a long way in attending to all the relevant needs and contemplating the important factors that will matter on the long-term scale. The Advisory Group offered development assistance that made the planning procedure more efficient and faster.
Due to the assistance, the development proposal was submitted to the relevant authority within a short period. This gives the project the leverage of starting early and making way for meeting its goals. The development process also involved some other parties who provided one form of support or the other.
